Great Tribulation (Day of The Lord) Begins In The Middle of The Seven Year Jerusalem Covenant

Matt. 24:15-22

I.

Great Tribulation (Wrath) Begins When You See The Abomination of Desolation

No Flesh Would Be Saved, But For The Elects Sake Those Days Will Be Shortened

15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened." - Matt. 24:15-22 NKJV

Dan. 9:25-27

II.

The Abomination of Desolation Will Be Set Up In The Middle of The Seven Year Jerusalem Covenant

25 “Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven ‘sevens,’ and sixty-two ‘sevens.’ It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble. 26 After the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed.

27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.” - Daniel 9:25-27 NIV

Dan. 11:36 - 12:13

The Great Time of Distress (Tribulation) Will Last For A Time, Times And Half A Time  - 3-1/2 Years

A Time of Distress That Has Not Happened From The Beginning of Nations Until Then

Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.

12  “At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered. 2 Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. 4 But you, Daniel, close up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.”

5 Then I, Daniel, looked, and there before me stood two others, one on this bank of the river and one on the opposite bank. 6 One of them said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?”

7 The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever, saying, “It will be for a time, times and half a time. When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed.”

8 I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, “My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?”

9 He replied, “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.

There Will Be 1,290 Days From The Time That The Abomination of Desolation Is Set Up

11 “From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. 12 Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.

13 “As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.” - Dan. 11:36 - 12:13 NIV

The verses above are speaking about the man of sin, the antichrist. He will magnify himself above every god and honor a god of fortresses (he will use the military).  He has similarities to Antiochus Epiphanies of Assyria.

2 Thess. 2:1-4

III.

The Day of The Lord (Day of Wrath) Will Not Come Until The Man of Lawlessness Is Revealed

He Sits In God’s Temple Showing Himself To Be God

Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers, 2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy, report or letter supposed to have come from us, saying that the day of the Lord has already come.

3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God. 2 Thess. 2:1-4 NIV

Using the three sets of verses above, we can see that the day of the Lord, the bowls of wrath in Revelation, begins in the last 3-1/2 years of the Jerusalem covenant and the abomination of desolation is set up in the temple.

Isa. 13:6-13

The Day of The Lord - A Cruel Day, With Wrath And Fierce Anger

6 Wail, for the day of the LORD is near; it will come like destruction from the Almighty. 7 Because of this, all hands will go limp, every man’s heart will melt. 8 Terror will seize them, pain and anguish will grip them; they will writhe like a woman in labor. They will look aghast at each other, their faces aflame.

9 See, the day of the LORD is coming  —a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger— to make the land desolate and destroy the sinners within it. 10 The stars of heaven and their constellations will not show their light. The rising sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light.  11 I will punish the world for its evil, the wicked for their sins. I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty and will humble the pride of the ruthless. 12 I will make man scarcer than pure gold, more rare than the gold of Ophir. 13 Therefore I will make the heavens tremble; and the earth will shake from its place at the wrath of the LORD Almighty, in the day of his burning anger. - Isa. 13:6-13 NIV

Isa. 24:1-6

The Earth Will Completely Laid Waste

1  Behold, the LORD lays the earth waste, devastates it, distorts its surface and scatters its inhabitants.

2  And the people will be like the priest, the servant like his master, the maid like her mistress, the buyer like the seller, the lender like the borrower, the creditor like the debtor.

3  The earth will be completely laid waste and completely despoiled, for the LORD has spoken this word.

4  The earth mourns and withers, the world fades and withers, the exalted of the people of the earth fade away.

5  The earth is also polluted by its inhabitants, for they transgressed laws, violated statutes, broke the everlasting covenant.

6  Therefore, a curse devours the earth, and those who live in it are held guilty. Therefore, the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left. - Isa. 24:1-6 NASB

Isa. 24:21-23

In That Day The Lord Will Punish The  Powers In The Heavens Above And The Kings On The Earth Below

21 In that day the Lord will punish the powers in the heavens above and the kings on the earth below.

22 They will be herded together like prisoners bound in a dungeon; they will be shut up in prison  and be punished after many days.

23 The moon will be abashed, the sun ashamed; for the Lord Almighty will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and before its elders, gloriously. - Isa. 24:21-23 NIV

The verses from Isaiah 24 sound like they are describing the day of the Lord. When the seven trumpets are finished the seven bowls of wrath begin. During the seventh trumpet the Lord God begins to reign and the dead are judged. The rapture of the saints come at the last trump which is the seventh trumpet (1 Cor. 15:52).

Joel 3:12-17

The Day of The Lord Is Near In The Valley of Decision

The Nations Surrounding Israel Will Be Judged In The Valley of Jehoshaphat

12 “Let the nations be wakened, and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; for there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations.

13 Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, go down; for the winepress is full, the vats overflow—for their wickedness is great.”

14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.

15 The sun and moon will grow dark, and the stars will diminish their brightness.

16 The Lord also will roar from Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem; the heavens and earth will shake; but the Lord will be a shelter for His people,

and the strength of the children of Israel.

17 “So you shall know that I am the Lord your God, dwelling in Zion My holy mountain.

Then Jerusalem shall be holy, and no aliens shall ever pass through her again.” - Joel 3:12-17 NKJV

The verses from Joel 3 and Revelation 14 seem to be speaking about the harvest of wrath. This may mean that Christians are taken out at the seventh trumpet (rapture, gathering) and avoid the seven bowls of wrath.

Joel 2:1-32

The Day of The Lord Is Coming - Surely It Is Near

1  Blow a trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm on My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, for the day of the Lord is coming; surely it is near,

2  a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and thick darkness. As the dawn is spread over the mountains, so there is a great and mighty people; there has never been anything like it, nor will there be again after it to the years of many generations.

The Army Invades

3  A fire consumes before them and behind them a flame burns. The land is like the garden of Eden before them but a desolate wilderness behind them, and nothing at all escapes them.

4  Their appearance is like the appearance of horses; and like war horses, so they run.

5  With a noise as of chariots they leap on the tops of the mountains, like the crackling of a flame of fire consuming the stubble, like a mighty people arranged for battle.

6  Before them the people are in anguish; all faces turn pale.

7  They run like mighty men, they climb the wall like soldiers; and they each march in line, nor do they deviate from their paths.

8  They do not crowd each other, they march everyone in his path; when they burst through the defenses, they do not break ranks.

9  They rush on the city, they run on the wall; they climb into the houses, they enter through the windows like a thief.

10  Before them the earth quakes, the heavens tremble, the sun and the moon grow dark and the stars lose their brightness.

11  The Lord utters His voice before His army; surely His camp is very great, for strong is he who carries out His word. The day of the Lord is indeed great and very awesome, and who can endure it?

Return To Me With All Your Heart

12  “Yet even now,” declares the Lord, “Return to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, weeping and mourning;

13  And rend your heart and not your garments.” Now return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness and relenting of evil.

14  Who knows whether He will not turn and relent and leave a blessing behind Him, even a grain offering and a drink offering for the Lord your God?

15  Blow a trumpet in Zion, consecrate a fast, proclaim a solemn assembly,

16  Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children and the nursing infants. Let the bridegroom come out of his room and the bride out of her bridal chamber.

17  Let the priests, the Lord’s ministers, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, “Spare Your people, O Lord, and do not make Your inheritance a reproach, a byword among the nations. Why should they among the peoples say, ‘Where is their God?’ ”

Deliverance Promised

18  Then the Lord will be zealous for His land and will have pity on His people.

19  The Lord will answer and say to His people, “Behold, I am going to send you grain, new wine and oil, and you will be satisfied in full with them; and I will never again make you a reproach among the nations.

God Will Remove The Northern Army Far From You

20 “But I will remove the northern army far from you, and I will drive it into a parched and desolate land, and its vanguard into the eastern sea, and its rear guard into the western sea. And its stench will arise and its foul smell will come up, for it has done great things.”

21  Do not fear, O land, rejoice and be glad, for the Lord has done great things.

22  Do not fear, beasts of the field, for the pastures of the wilderness have turned green, for the tree has borne its fruit, the fig tree and the vine have yielded in full.

23 So rejoice, O sons of Zion, and be glad in the Lord your God; for He has given you the early rain for your vindication. And He has poured down for you the rain, the early and latter rain as before.

24  The threshing floors will be full of grain, and the vats will overflow with the new wine and oil.

25  “Then I will make up to you for the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the creeping locust, the stripping locust and the gnawing locust, My great army which I sent among you.

26 “You will have plenty to eat and be satisfied and praise the name of the Lord your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; then My people will never be put to shame.

You Will Know That I Am The Lord Your God

27  “Thus you will know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and there is no other; and My people will never be put to shame.

The Promise of the Spirit

28  “It will come about after this that I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind; and your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.

29 “Even on the male and female servants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.

The Day of the Lord

The Sun Will Be Turned Into Darkness And The Moon Into Blood

Whoever Calls On The Name of The Lord Will Be Delivered - There Will Be Those In Jerusalem Who Escape

30  “I will display wonders in the sky and on the earth, blood, fire and columns of smoke.

31  “The sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes.

32  “And it will come about that whoever calls on the name of the LORD will be delivered; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be those who escape, as the LORD has said, even among the survivors whom the LORD calls. - Joel 2:1-32 NASB

1 Thess. 5:1-11

The Day of The Lord Comes Like A Thief In The Night But You Brethren Are Not In Darkness

But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. 8 But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. 9 For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.

11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing. - 1 Thess. 5:1-11 NKJV

2 Thess. 2:5-12

The Lawless One Will Be Revealed When His Restraint Is Removed

5 Don’t you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? 6 And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. 7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming.

Those Who Did Not Believe The Truth Will Believe The Lie

9 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, 10 and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness. - 2 Thess. 2:5-12 NIV

Apparently Christians will go through the tribulation as noted in Matthew 24. If that is the case then the gathering to meet Jesus in the air (rapture) will take place during the day of the Lord - a day of wrath.

The return of Jesus with the saints to fight against the armies that are waiting on Him is the second coming. Jesus will rule with the saints for 1,000 years.

The day of the Lord and the gathering to the Lord are tied together. Therefore they apparently happen in the same time period.

Rescued From The Wrath

Rescued From The Wrath

1 Thess. 1:9-10

Jesus Rescues Us From The Wrath To Come

9 For they themselves report about us what kind of a reception we had with you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve a living and true God, 10 and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath to come. - 1 Thess. 1:9-10 NASB

Matt. 24:15:22

When You See The Abomination Standing In The Holy Place There Will Be Great Tribulation

But For The Elect's Sake Those Days Will Be Shortened

Paul Tied The Gathering (Rapture) And Day of The Lord Together

2 Thess. 2:1-4 NIV

2 Tim. 4:1-2

Jesus Will Judge The Living And The Dead

I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: 2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. - 2 Tim. 4:1-2 NKJV

After the abomination of desolation there will be great tribulation (day of the Lord), but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened (the number of days will be shortened). The day of the Lord and the rapture (gathering) are tied together in 2 Thessalonians. Jesus will rescue or deliver those from the day of wrath. He will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom. The gathering takes place during the day of the Lord, but for the elect those days will be shortened (fewer days).

Luke 21:34-36

Watch And Pray That You Will Be Counted Worthy To Escape All These Things And Stand Before Jesus

34 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” - Luke 21:34-36 NKJV

Romans 5:9

Saved From The Wrath Through Jesus

9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. - Romans 5:9 NKJV

2 Peter 3:8-9

The Lord Does Not Want Anyone To Perish But To Come To Repentance

8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. - 2 Peter 3:8-9 NIV

Rev. 3:3

If You Will Not Watch I Will Come Upon You As A Thief

"Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you." - Rev. 3:3 NKJV

Acts 2:17-21

Everyone Who Calls On The Name of The Lord Shall Be Saved

17 “ ‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams;

18 even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.

19 And I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;

20 the sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day.

21 And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’ - Acts 2:17-21 ESV

Rev. 14:14-20

Reaping the Earth’s Harvest Then The Wrath of God

One Like The Son of Man, Jesus, Reaps The Harvest of The Earth - The Rapture

14 Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. 15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.” 16 So He who sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.

An Angel Gathers the Clusters of Vine of The Earth And Throws It Into The Winepress of The Wrath of God

Blood Flows Outside of Jerusalem Up to the Horses' Bridles

17 Then another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.

18 And another angel came out from the altar, who had power over fire, and he cried with a loud cry to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, “Thrust in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, for her grapes are fully ripe.” 19 So the angel thrust his sickle into the earth and gathered the vine of the earth, and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. 20 And the winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the horses’ bridles, for one thousand six hundred furlongs. - Rev. 14:14-20 NKJV

The verses above are about the harvest of two groups of people:

 1.   One like the Son of Man, Jesus, reaps the first group. These are apparently the elect who are true followers of Jesus. So the rapture takes place just before the wrath of God takes place.

 2.   The second group are thrown in to great winepress of the wrath of God. The winepress was trampled outside the city (Jerusalem)  and blood came out of the winepress up the the horses bridles for 1,200 furlongs. This may be referring to what takes at Armageddon and the rescue of Jerusalem (Rev. 16:12-16 and Joel 3:12-17).

The gathering of the saints to meet the Lord in the air (the rapture) and the day of the Lord (the wrath)

are tied together in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4.

The Gathering

2 Thess 2:1-12

The Coming of Jesus And Our Being Gathered to Him (The Rapture) & The Day of The Lord Are Tied Together

Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers, 2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy, report or letter supposed to have come from us, saying that the day of the Lord has already come.

The Day of The Lord (That Day) Will Not Come Until The Man of Lawlessness Is Revealed

- 2 Thess. 2:1-12 NIV

What the verses above seem to indicate is that the day of the Lord and the gathering to the Lord are tied together (2 Thessalonians 1:1-4). The day of the Lord, a time of wrath, will not come until the falling away occurs and the man of lawlessness (antichrist) is revealed. He will oppose and exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped. He will set himself up in God’s temple and proclaim himself to be God.

To be rescued (raptured) from the wrath could mean that one is in the day of the Lord, but they could be rescued from the wrath.

1 Thess. 4:13-18

The Dead Will Rise First And Then Those Who Remain

13  But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. 14  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. 15  For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17  Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. 18  Therefore comfort one another with these words. - 1 Thess. 4:13-18 NASB

1 Cor. 15:50-54

We shall All Be Changed At The Last Trumpet

50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed - 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory." - 1 Cor. 15:50-54 NKJV

The King, The Antichrist, The Man of Lawlessness

Magnifies Himself Above Every God

Dan. 11:36-45

He Magnifies Himself Above Every God, Speaks Blasphemies Against The God of gods, And Honors A God of Fortresses

He Acts Against The Strongest Fortresses With A Foreign God

36 “Then the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done. 37 He shall regard neither the God of his fathers nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall exalt himself above them all. 38 But in their place he shall honor a god of fortresses; and a god which his fathers did not know he shall honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and pleasant things. 39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain.

He Will Come To His End

40 “At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through. 41 He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon. 42 He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. 43 He shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; also the Libyans and Ethiopians shall follow at his heels. 44 But news from the east and the north shall trouble him; therefore he shall go out with great fury to destroy and annihilate many. 45 And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and no one will help him. - Dan. 11:36-45 NKJV

The king, man of sin, will come to his end when Jesus returns at the second coming.

Dan. 12:1

There Will Be In A Time of Distress Such As Not Happened From The Beginning of Nations

12  “At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered. - Dan. 12:1 NIV

This verse is apparently referring to the day of the Lord, a time of great distress, when the gathering (rapture) takes place somewhere in that period.

Dan. 12:5-13

The Great Distress Will Last For A Time, Times, And A Half a Time  -  3-1/2 Years

12:5-13 NIV
