In That Day

Where We Are And What To Expect

Second Coming

The second coming takes place after the gathering or rapture. Jesus will return with the armies of heaven and set up a kingdom that will last for 1,000 years. This is described in Revelation 19:11-21. Satan will be thrown into the bottomless pit during the 1,000 years. After the 1,000 years he will be let out to deceive the nations. Then he will be thrown into the lake of fire where the beast (antichrist) and false prophet are.

Next there will be a great white throne. Heaven and the earth fled from the face of Him who sat on the throne. The dead stood before God and the books were opened. The Book of Life was opened and the dead were judged according to their works by the things that were written in the books.

The sea gave up the dead who were in them and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. They were judged according to their works.

Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:11-15).

Then there will be a new heaven, a new earth, and a new Jerusalem (Rev. 21-22).

Second Coming

Rev. 19:1-21

Jesus Return With The Armies of Heaven

Heaven Rejoices Over The Judgment of The Harlot City

After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! 2 For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.” 3 Again they said, “Alleluia! Her smoke rises up forever and ever!” 4 And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sat on the throne, saying, “Amen! Alleluia!” 5 Then a voice came from the throne, saying, “Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!”

The Marriage Supper of The Lamb Has Come

6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! 7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” 8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.

9 Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” 10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

The Word of God, Jesus, Sits On A White Horse And The Armies of Heaven Follow Him

A Sharp Sword Comes Out of His Mouth To Strike The Nations

11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS

Birds Will Eat The Flesh of The Armies And Horses

17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of the great God, 18 that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great.”

The Beast And False Profit Are Thrown Into The Lake of Fire

The Rest Were Killed With The Sword That Came From The Mouth of Him Who Sat On The Horse

19 And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. 20 Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21 And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh. - Rev. 19:1-21 NKJV

Genesis 6:5 and 19:1-29

It Will Be Like The Days of Noah And The Days of Lot

22 Then He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. 23 And they will say to you, ‘Look here!’ or ‘Look there!’ Do not go after them or follow them. 24 For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day. 25 But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.

The Days of Noah

26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;

The Days of Lot

29 but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.
31 In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is in the field, let him not turn back. 32 Remember Lot’s wife.

One Will Be Taken And The Other Will Be Left

33 Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. 34 I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left. 35 Two women will be grinding together: the one will be taken and the other left. 36 Two men will be in the field: the one will be taken and the other left.”

The Eagles Will Be Gathered To Devour

The Dead Bodies

37 And they answered and said to Him, “Where, Lord?”
So He said to them, “Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.” - Luke 17:22-37 NKJV

Luke says that it will be like the days of Noah. There was violence and their minds were on evil continually (Genesis 6:5)..

It will also be like the days of Lot when there was rampant homosexuality (Genesis 19:1-29).

Luke 17:26-29

When Jesus Returns It Will Be Like The Days of Noah And The Days of Lot

Like The Days of Noah

26 "And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man. 27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. - Luke 17:26-27

The days of the coming of the Son of man will be like the days of Noah (Matt. 24:37, Luke 17:26) - they ate, drank and married.

The days of Noah - wickedness, evil thoughts continually (Gen. 6:5), Violence (Gen. 6:11)

5 Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. - Gen. 6:5-6 NKJV

11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. 12 So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth. - Gen. 6:11-12 NKJV

Like The Days of Lot

28 Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; 29 but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed." - Luke 17:28-29 NKJV

20 And the LORD said, “Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grave, 21 I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry against it that has come to Me; and if not, I will know.” - Gen. 18:19-21

When the Son of Man is revealed it will be like the days of Lot (Luke 17:28) - they ate, drank, bought, sold, and planted.

The days of Lot - grievous sin (Gen. 18:20)

In Genesis the days of Noah were filled with violence and mans thoughts were on evil continually (Gen. 6:5,11).

The days of Lot were filled with grievous sin (Gen. 18:20, 19:24). Sodom had gross homosexuality (Gen. 19:4-11, 24-25).

Matthew 24:1-35

Jesus Will Return After The Tribulation of Those Days

The Temple Will Be Torn Down

Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple. 2 And Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”

What Will Be The Sign of Your Coming And The End of The Age?

3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

The Beginning of Sorrows

4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you.For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

This Gospel of The Kingdom Will Be Preached In All The World And Then The End (of The Age) Will Come

“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

When You See THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION Standing In The Holy Place

Then Let Those In Judea Flee To The Mountains For Then There Will Be Great Tribulation

15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath.
21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.

But For The Elect's Sake Those Days (Great Tribulation) Will Be Shortened

22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.
23 “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. 24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand.
26 “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it.

The Rapture Will Come Quickly Like Lightning

27 For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 28 For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together.

Immediately After The Tribulation of Those Days The Sun Will Be Darkened And The Moon Will Not Give Its Light, Stars Will Fall

Then Jesus Will Send His Angels With A Great Sound of A Trumpet And They Will Gather Together His Elect (Rapture, Rescue)

29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

The Generation That Sees The Fig Tree (Israel) Put Forth Leaves ( Israel Became A Nation In 1948) Will See All These Things.

32 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! 34 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away." - Matt. 24:1-35 NKJV

Notice in Matthew 24:15-22 that it says the great tribulation will take place after the abomination of desolation is seen in the holy place. The abomination takes place in the middle of the seven year Jerusalem covenant (Dan. 9:27).The number of days will be shortened (by the rapture) for the sake of the elect.

Daniel 9:25-27

THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION

Will Be Set Up In The Middle of The Seven Year Jerusalem Covenant

25 “Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven ‘sevens,’ and sixty-two ‘sevens.’ It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble. 26 After the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed.

27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.” - Daniel 9:25-27 NIV

Luke 21:20-36

There Will Be Signs In The Sun Moon And Stars, Nations In Perplexity Because of The Roaring of The Sea And The Waves

People Will Be Fainting With Fear From What Is Coming On The Earth

Then They Will See The Coming of the Son of Man Coming In A Cloud And Great Glory

25 “And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, 26 people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

When You See These Things Taking Place, Then Know That The Kingdom of God Is Near

29 And he told them a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. 30 As soon as they come out in leaf, you see for yourselves and know that the summer is already near. 31 So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that the kingdom of God is near. 32 Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all has taken place. 33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

Watch So That Day Won’t Come On You Suddenly Like A Trap

Pray That You Will Have The Strength To Escape All These Things And Stand Before The Son of Man

34 “But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap. 35 For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”  - Luke 21:20-36 ESV

In Luke 21:25-28 there will be nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and waves. People will be fainting because of what is coming on the world. Then they will see the Son of Man, Jesus, coming in a cloud.  When theses things begin to take place then straighten up and raise your head because your redemption is drawing near.

The Gathering

Description of The Gathering, The Rapture

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

The Dead Will Rise First And Then Those Who Remain Will Be Caught Up To Meet The Lord In The Air (The Rapture)

13  But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. 14  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. 15  For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17  Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. 18  Therefore comfort one another with these words. - 1 Thess. 4:13-18 NASB

1 Corinthians 15:50-54

We shall All Be Changed At The Last Trumpet (The Rapture)

50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed - 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory." - 1 Cor. 15:50-54 NKJV

Luke 17:22-37

Matthew 24 Reveals When The Gathering Takes Place

Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven and a  loud trumpet will sound, and He will send His angels and they will gather His elect. The kingdoms of this world will become the kingdoms of the Lord during the seventh trumpet.

Day of The Lord - Wrath

The Description of The Day of The Lord - Wrath

Isaiah 13:6-13

The Day of The Lord - A Cruel Day, With Wrath And Fierce Anger

God Will Punish The World For Its Evil

6 Wail, for the day of the LORD is near; it will come like destruction from the Almighty. 7 Because of this, all hands will go limp, every man’s heart will melt. 8 Terror will seize them, pain and anguish will grip them; they will writhe like a woman in labor. They will look aghast at each other, their faces aflame.
9 See, the day of the LORD is coming  —a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger— to make the land desolate and destroy the sinners within it. 10 The stars of heaven and their constellations will not show their light. The rising sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light.  11 I will punish the world for its evil, the wicked for their sins. I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty and will humble the pride of the ruthless. 12 I will make man scarcer than pure gold, more rare than the gold of Ophir. 13 Therefore I will make the heavens tremble; and the earth will shake from its place at the wrath of the LORD Almighty, in the day of his burning anger. - Isa. 13:6-13 NIV

Isaiah 24:1-6

The Earth Will Completely Laid Waste

1  Behold, the LORD lays the earth waste, devastates it, distorts its surface and scatters its inhabitants.
2  And the people will be like the priest, the servant like his master, the maid like her mistress, the buyer like the seller, the lender like the borrower, the creditor like the debtor.
3  The earth will be completely laid waste and completely despoiled, for the LORD has spoken this word.
4  The earth mourns and withers, the world fades and withers, the exalted of the people of the earth fade away.
5  The earth is also polluted by its inhabitants, for they transgressed laws, violated statutes, broke the everlasting covenant.
6  Therefore, a curse devours the earth, and those who live in it are held guilty. Therefore, the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left. - Isa. 24:1-6 NASB

Isaiah 24:21-23

In That Day The Lord Will Punish The  Powers In The Heavens Above And The Kings On The Earth Below

21 In that day the Lord will punish the powers in the heavens above and the kings on the earth below.
22 They will be herded together like prisoners bound in a dungeon; they will be shut up in prison  and be punished after many days.
23 The moon will be abashed, the sun ashamed; for the Lord Almighty will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and before its elders, gloriously. - Isa. 24:21-23 NIV

The verses from Isaiah 24 sound like they are describing the day of the Lord. When the seven trumpets are finished the seven bowls of wrath begin. During the seventh trumpet the Lord God begins to reign.

Joel 2:1-32

The Sun Will Be Turned Into Darkness And The Moon Into Blood Before The Day of the Lord

Whoever Calls On The Name of The Lord Will Be Delivered - There Will Be Those In Jerusalem Who Escape

30  “I will display wonders in the sky and on the earth, blood, fire and columns of smoke. 31  “The sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes. 32  “And it will come about that whoever calls on the name of the LORD will be delivered; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be those who escape, as the LORD has said, even among the survivors whom the LORD calls. - Joel 2:1-32 NASB

Joel 3:12-17

The Day of The Lord Is Near In The Valley of Decision

The Nations Surrounding Israel Will Be Judged In The Valley of Jehoshaphat

12 “Let the nations be wakened, and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; for there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations.
13 Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, go down; for the winepress is full, the vats overflow—for their wickedness is great.”
14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.
15 The sun and moon will grow dark, and the stars will diminish their brightness.
16 The Lord also will roar from Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem; the heavens and earth will shake; but the Lord will be a shelter for His people,
and the strength of the children of Israel.
17 “So you shall know that I am the Lord your God, dwelling in Zion My holy mountain. Then Jerusalem shall be holy, and no aliens shall ever pass through her again.” - Joel 3:12-17 NKJV

The verses from Joel 3 and Revelation 14 seem to be speaking about the harvest of wrath.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-11

The Day of The Lord Comes Like A Thief In The Night But You Brethren Are Not In Darkness

God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ - Watch And Be Sober

But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. 8 But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. 9 For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. 11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing. - 1 Thess. 5:1-11 NKJV

2 Thessalonians 2:1-12

Concerning Our Gathering To The Lord (Rapture),

The Day of The Lord (Wrath) Will Not Begin Until The Lawless One Is Revealed

Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

The Lawless One Will Be Revealed When His Restraint Is Removed

5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.

Those Who Did Not Believe The Truth Will Believe The Lie

9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. - 2 Thess. 2:1-12 NKJV

Paul wrote to the Thessalonians because they thought that the day of the Lord had already begun. The fact that the gathering to the Lord and the day of the Lord are mentioned together is an indication that they are related or are in the same time period. The gathering actually takes place near the end of the day of the Lord during the sixth bowl of wrath.

Apparently Christians will go through the tribulation as noted in Matthew 24 and Luke 21. The day of the Lord will apparently take place after the abomination of desolation is set up.

Jesus will return to fight against the armies that are waiting on Him is the second coming. Jesus will rule with the saints for 1,000 years.

Rescued From The Wrath

We Are Rescued From The Wrath After Sixth Bowl of Wrath Listed - Possibly During The Seventh Trumpet

There will be a great time of distress (tribulation). A time of distress that has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. At that time your people (the Jewish people) will be delivered (gathered - raptured?).

1 Thessalonians 1:9-10

Jesus Rescues Us From The Wrath To Come

9 For they themselves report about us what kind of a reception we had with you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve a living and true God, 10 and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath to come. - 1 Thess. 1:9-10 NASB

Daniel 12:1-13

“At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered. 2 Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. 4 But you, Daniel, close up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.”
5 Then I, Daniel, looked, and there before me stood two others, one on this bank of the river and one on the opposite bank.

It Will Be 3-1/2 Years Before These Things Are Fulfilled (a Time, Times, And Half A Time - 1,260 Days).

The Power of The Holy People Will Be Broken

6 One of them said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?”
7 The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever, saying, “It will be for a time, times and half a time. When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed.”
8 I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, “My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?”
9 He replied, “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.

From The Time That The Abomination of Desolation Is Set Up There Will Be 1,290 Days

Blessed Is The One Who Waits 1,335 days

11 “From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. 12 Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.
13 “As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.” - Dan. 11:36 - 12:13 NIV

Daniel 11:35 speaks about things that will take place at the time of the end. The verses in 11:36-43 speak about the man of sin, the antichrist. He will magnify himself above every god and honor a god of fortresses (Allah).  He has similarities to Antiochus Epiphanies of Assyria.

The verses in Daniel 12:1-13 speak about things that happen at the end of the age. Michael will stand up, the prince who protects your people, the Jewish people.

In the book of Daniel a month is 30 days and a year is 360 days. Then seven years would be 2,520 days. The abomination in Daniel 9 is set up in the middle of the seven year Jerusalem covenant. Blessed is the one who waits 1,335 days. What this may mean is that from the time that the abomination is set up until the Jewish people are delivered (rapture, gathering, catching up) there will be 1,335 days. This may apply to everybody.

The Bible speaks about a rescue or saving from the wrath. To be saved or rescued from something you have to be in it. However even if you are in a flood, earthquake, or tornado you may not be injured by it.

7 x 360 = 2,520

2,520/2 = 1,260  The exact middle of the seven year Jerusalem covenant

1,290    From The Time That The Abomination is Set Up

+      45     The number of days left to wait

1,335    Blessed Is The One Who Waits 1,335 days

Romans 5:9

Saved From The Wrath Through Jesus (The Rapture)

9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. - Romans 5:9 NKJV

The verses above speak about being saved and rescued from the wrath. They are speaking about being rescued from the wrath to come. To be rescued is to taken out of some dangerous situation that is taking place.

2 Peter 3:8-9

The Lord Does Not Want Anyone To Perish But To Come To Repentance

8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. - 2 Peter 3:8-9 NIV

Acts 2:17-21

Everyone Who Calls On The Name of The Lord Shall Be Saved

17 “ ‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams;
18 even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.
19 And I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;
20 the sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day.
21 And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’ - Acts 2:17-21 ESV

Revelation 3:3

If You Will Not Watch I Will Come Upon You As A Thief

"Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you." - Rev. 3:3 NKJV

Revelation 14:14-20

Jesus, Reaps The Harvest of The Earth

The Rapture of The Elect - They Are Rescued In The Day of The Lord

14 Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. 15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.” 16 So He who sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.

The Wrath of God

An Angel Gathers the Clusters of The Vine of The Earth And Throws Them Into The Winepress of The Wrath of God

Blood Flows Outside of Jerusalem Up to the Horses' Bridles

17 Then another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.
18 And another angel came out from the altar, who had power over fire, and he cried with a loud cry to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, “Thrust in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, for her grapes are fully ripe.” 19 So the angel thrust his sickle into the earth and gathered the vine of the earth, and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. 20 And the winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the horses’ bridles, for one thousand six hundred furlongs. - Rev. 14:14-20 NKJV

The verses above are about the harvest of two groups of people:

 1.   One like the Son of Man, Jesus, reaps the first group. These are apparently the elect who are true followers of Jesus.

 2.   The second group are thrown in to great winepress of the wrath of God. The winepress was trampled outside the city (Jerusalem)  and blood came out of the winepress up the the horses bridles for 1,200 furlongs. This may be referring to what takes place when Jesus returns. There will armies at Armageddon in Jerusalem (Rev. 16:12-16, Zech. 14:1-7, and Joel 3:12-17).

Ezekiel 39:1-6

Gog And Armies From The Far North Will Fall On The Mountains of Israel

They Will Be Food For Birds And Wild Animals

“Son of man, prophesy against Gog and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. 2 I will turn you around and drag you along. I will bring you from the far north and send you against the mountains of Israel. 3 Then I will strike your bow from your left hand and make your arrows drop from your right hand. 4 On the mountains of Israel you will fall, you and all your troops and the nations with you.
I will give you as food to all kinds of carrion birds and to the wild animals. 5 You will fall in the open field, for I have spoken, declares the Sovereign LORD. 6 I will send fire on Magog and on those who live in safety in the coastlands, and they will know that I am the LORD. - Ezek. 39:1-6 NIV

Rev. 16:12-16

The Kings of The Earth And The Whole World Gather For Battle At Armageddon

12 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared. 13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
15 “Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.”
16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon. - Rev. 16:12-16 NKJV

Joel 3:1-2

God Will Gather All Nations To The Valley of Jehoshaphat (The Lord Judges)

They Scattered Israel Among The Nations And Divided Up His Land

1 “For behold, in those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, 2  I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land." - Joel 3:1-2 NIV

Joel 2:31-32

The Sun Will Be Dark And The Moon Blood Before The Day of The Lord

Whoever Calls On The Name of The Lord Will Be Delivered

There Will Be Survivors On Mount Zion And In Jerusalem Whom The Lord Calls

31  “The sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes. 32  “And it will come about that whoever calls on the name of the LORD will be delivered; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be those who escape, as the LORD has said, even among the survivors whom the LORD calls. - Joel 2:31-32 NASB

 Zech. 14:1-9

Jerusalem Will Be Captured - Half of The City Will Go Into Exile - They Will Flee By The Mountain Valley

Then The Lord Will Come With The Holy Ones, The Lord Will Be King Over The Whole Earth

A day of the LORD is coming when your plunder will be divided among you. 2 I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city.
3 Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights in the day of battle. 4 On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south. 5 You will flee by my mountain valley, for it will extend to Azel. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with him.
6 On that day there will be no light, no cold or frost. 7 It will be a unique day, without daytime or nighttime—a day known to the LORD. When evening comes, there will be light. 8 On that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half to the eastern sea and half to the western sea, in summer and in winter. 9 The LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and his name the only name. - Zech. 14:1-9 NIV

Zech. 14:12-15

The Lord Will Strike The Nations That Fought Against Jerusalem

Their Flesh Will Rot While They Are Still Standing On Their Feet

12 This is the plague with which the LORD will strike all the nations that fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths. 13 On that day men will be stricken by the LORD with great panic. Each man will seize the hand of another, and they will attack each other. 14 Judah too will fight at Jerusalem. The wealth of all the surrounding nations will be collected—great quantities of gold and silver and clothing. 15 A similar plague will strike the horses and mules, the camels and donkeys, and all the animals in those camps. - Zech. 14:12-15 NIV

Jerusalem will be captured and then the Lord will fight against those nations. He will set His feet on the Mount of Olives. Some of the armies that have gathered at Armageddon may go to Jerusalem. It seems like these two events are tied together.

Zech. 12:2-10

The Lord Will Save The Tents of Judah First And Then Jerusalem

The Lord Will Make Jerusalem A Heavy Stone For All Peoples

2 “Behold, I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that causes reeling to all the peoples around; and when the siege is against Jerusalem, it will also be against Judah. 3 It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it. 4 “In that day,” declares the Lord, “I will strike every horse with bewilderment and his rider with madness. But I will watch over the house of Judah, while I strike every horse of the peoples with blindness. 5 Then the clans of Judah will say in their hearts, ‘A strong support for us are the inhabitants of Jerusalem through the Lord of hosts, their God.’ "
6 “In that day I will make the clans of Judah like a firepot among pieces of wood and a flaming torch among sheaves, so they will consume on the right hand and on the left all the surrounding peoples, while the inhabitants of Jerusalem again dwell on their own sites in Jerusalem.
7 “The Lord also will save the tents of Judah first, so that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem will not be magnified above Judah. 8 “In that day the Lord will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the one who is feeble among them in that day will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the angel of the Lord before them. 9 “And in that day I will set about to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
They Will Look On Me Whom They Have Pierced And They Will Mourn
10 “I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn. - Zech. 12:2-10 NASB

Judgment of the Nations

Matthew 25:31-46

The Nations Will Be Judged According To Their Treatment of His Brethren

31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’
44 “Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ 45 Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ 46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” - Matt. 25:31-46 NKJV

2 Timothy 4:1-2

Jesus Will Judge The Living And The Dead At His Appearing And His Kingdom (The Second Coming)

I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: 2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. - 2 Tim. 4:1-2 NKJV

The 1,000 Year Reign of Christ

Rev. 20:1-6

Satan Will Be Bound And Thrown Into The Abyss For 1,000 Years

And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. 2 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3 He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time.

The Resurrection of Those Who Were Beheaded For Their Testimony For Jesus
They Came To Life And Reigned With Christ For 1,000 Years

4 I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5 (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years. - Rev. 20:1-6 NIV

Rev. 20:7-10

After The 1,000 Years

Satan Will Be Thrown Into The Lake of Fire Where The Beast And False Prophet Are

They Will Be Tormented Day And Night Forever And Ever

7 Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. 9 They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. 10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. - Rev. 20:7-10 NKJV

Anyone Not Found Written In The Book of Life Was Cast Into The Lake of Fire

Rev. 20:11-15

The Great White Throne Judgment

The Dead Were Judged According To Their Works

Death And Hades Were Thrown Into The Lake of Fire - This Is The Second Death

11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. - Rev. 20:11-15 NKJV

2 Peter 3:10-13

A New Heaven And Earth After The 1,000 Year Reign of Christ

10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.
11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. 13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness. - 2 Peter 3:10-13 NIV

The day of the Lord (a time of wrath) will come like a thief. There is great tribulation during this period (Matt. 24:15-21).

The verses above are describing what takes place after the 1,000 year reign of Christ (Rev. 21:1-8). The new heaven and new earth will come after the 1,000 year reign of Christ.

After the 1,000 years there will be a new heaven and a new earth. The holy city, New Jerusalem, will come down out of heaven from God, as a bride adorned for her husband. An angel showed John the Lamb’s wife, Jerusalem descending out of heaven from God. The city did not need the sun or moon because the glory of God illuminated it. Only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life shall enter it. There was a crystal clear river of water of life. In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river was a tree of life that bore twelve  fruits. Each tree yielded its fruit every month, and the leaves were for healing of the nations (Rev. 21:9-27, 22:1-5).
